After a long drought

In November 2010 Medicat's Modified camera stared for 50 minutes at a particular constellation in the outer arm of the Milky Way and the results were nothing else than amazing in amateur scale.



Enormous Gas clouds filled the image in a patch of sky that seemed pitch black. Let's take a minute and put this in perspective.


This was taken with simple equipment which is inexpensive.

A modified Canon XT with the IR Low-pass filter removed which allows great deal of red light to reach the sensor.


The story is nor over though, Later in June 2011 Medicat's camera did it again... This time it looked at another particular constellation towards the center of the milky way and did it for over 40 minutes, they used the same camera with different exposure time and this time they saw this:
